Dr. Ioannis (John) Kymissis

The Columbia Laboratory for Unconventional Electronics (CLUE) focuses on the development of thin film and hybrid systems for advanced electronics applications. We fabricate devices and systems using low thermal budget techniques for a variety of applications, including sensing, mechanical actuation, display, and energy conversion. A number of these systems have been advanced to commercial use. Our group also applies advanced analytical techniques to understand the underlying physics in thin film systems. This allows us to develop both fundamental insights and additional knowledge that can be applied to the development of new devices and systems.
